Quality Stormproof Windows from Stonehouse Corinium in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire

Stormproof Windows

The vagaries of the British climate mean that most homeowners in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire will appreciate the benefits of stormproof windows. It’s a style that will keep you snug and secure, no matter what the weather!

Keep the Weather Out and the Warmth In

So what makes stormproof windows stormproof? The answer is a simple but very effective design feature on the opening sash – i.e. a “lip” which overlaps the window frame, providing a weather proof seal. The frame and window cill may also have drips and runaways, designed to channel water away from the window itself. Combined with modern double glazing, the stormproof design really does keep the weather out and the warmth in.

At the same time, stormproof windows offer increased security. The design allows for multiple locking points around the perimeter of the window, which means that each window can be locked extra securely.

Versatile Way of Combining Security and Style

Although stormproof windows are an essentially practical design, this doesn’t mean good looks have to be sacrificed! The design can be created in any material or finish. Although most commonly encountered in uPVC, modern manufacturing methods mean that hardwood timber can be made every bit as weather resistant as PVC-U. You can enjoy richly coloured wooden frames and still be secure in the knowledge that your home is fortified against the elements! The design feature can also be adapted to any size or space requirement. Every room in your house can be protected against the wind and rain, from the smallest to the largest.

The reality of our climate means that we will always have to consider the weather when choosing replacement windows. Stormproof windows are a versatile way of combining security and style.
