Our bespoke conservatories and orangeries are available in Cirencester, Swindon, Cheltenham, Stroud, Gloucester and more generally throughout Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
A range of bespoke conservatories designed to suit every property are available from Stonehouse Corinium. Choose from a wide choice of styles including Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, traditional mono-pitch or nearly any combination of these. Your home will be beautifully transformed by our conservatories and orangeries.
The difference between conservatories and orangeries is that conservatories are simpler in style with a slimmer structure and a larger glazed roof area.
Orangeries have been around for centuries and were first built for growing exotic plants and fruits. The design of orangeries, compared to conservatories, provides for more solid structures i.e. more substantial extensions to houses and are characterised by having glazed lanterns within flat roof structures as well as having more columns.
Styles & Colours
Stonehouse Corinium supply and install a range of conservatories including Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, traditional mono-pitch or nearly any combination of these. Orangeries have glazed lanterns set within a flat roof and are available in a wide choice of colours and finishes depending on the material used to build the structures.
For the roof glazing there is self-cleaning glass that reduces maintenance; high performance energy efficient sealed units that reduce solar gain thereby keeping conservatories and orangeries cool in the summer; low iron glass and gas filled sealed units that reflect heat back into the conservatory or orangery thereby keeping the building warm in the winter, are also available.
Conservatories and orangeries require a minimal amount of maintenance in order to keep the surfaces clean. All moving parts such as handles and hinges should be checked annually and lubricated appropriately, where necessary. All profiles should be wiped clean using a mild detergent in water at three monthly intervals. The use of abrasive or corrosive cleaners and materials are not recommended.
Glass should be cleaned in the normal way with warm, mild soapy water or a quality glass cleaner.
